Description
Milliput Standard is the original two-part epoxy modelling putty. It’s got thousands of uses, not only in modelling but for general use. It’ll set under water, so it’s also useful for temporary plumbing repairs !
To use it, take an equal amount of each of the two sticks in the pack (one is the resin, the other the hardener) and mix them thoroughly. Milliput is very sticky for the first few minutes after being mixed, and will stick to most surfaces at this point. After about 20 minutes it becomes more plastic and less sticky, and can be pressed, cut and sculpted into shape. If you are sculpting with it, we recommend keeping a glass of water handy to keep your tools moistened. This will stop Milliput sticking to them, and can also be used to help smooth surfaces.
Setting time depends on temperature – normally 3-4 hours, but you can speed it up with a hairdryer if you have used it on metal surfaces. We don’t recommend putting it in the oven or using a hairdryer if you have used it on plastic or resin models (the Milliput will be fine, it’s just that the model might melt !)
