Files and Abraders

Files are a staple item in every model-maker's toolbox, and modelling files often find their way into the tool kit of motor mechanics as well, for fine and precision work. If you aren't familiar with abraders, you may find they'll be very useful for work where a file is too agressive an implement; they are great for polishing surfaces, keying them for painting, or for re-shaping soft materials.
